Community Drop-In 7 May

Call in for a coffee & chat with your Parish Councillors in the village hall 10am to 1pm. Share your views, see the results of the village survey. In attendance will be reps from Ryedale community hub and the Police and see a defibrillator demo. We are looking for ideas, help and volunteers for a number of ongoing projects, so come along and talk to us about:

  • The Platinum Jubilee Big Picnic – Sunday 5 June 2022
  • Defibrillator/First Aid training
  • Phone Box refurbishment
  • Emergency/Resilience/Good Neighbours Plans

White Swan Public House

The Asset of Community Value (ACV) applied for on the White Swan has been approved by Ryedale DC & is on their Register of Community Assets as from 19 August 2021. Also,the Ryedale DC commissioned review of the planning application viability report  has been completed and can be viewed on the planning portal on Ryedale DC website.: https://planningregisterdocs.ryedale.gov.uk/my-requests/document-viewer?DocNo=2207889

Phone Box – Thornton-le-Clay

The Parish Council is looking for someone to renovate the phone box free of charge. The phone box is currently in storage. If someone will renovate it, it will be sited in its original position in the village. Please go to Phone Box for more details and the specification. We would appreciate any offers by 31 December 2021 otherwise the parish council will have to consider selling the telephone box.

Grass Cutting

The Parish Council would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who is helping to maintain the verges by cutting the grass themselves.

 

Community Wildflower Meadow

Thank you to Mr & Mrs Smith and Mrs & Mrs White for all their hard work in turning this “unloved” area into the beautiful haven it is now. Many thanks to everyone, including the pupils of Foston Primary School for the fund-raising and donations.

Footpath Clearing

The parish council & I am sure everyone in the villages would like to thank the team of villagers, led be Peter Mills, who are clearing the path between Foston & Thornton-le-Clay. What a good job they are making of it.
